If your next Central Florida vacation falls over St. Patrick’s Day, prepare for a one-of-a-kind experience! There are lots of places to celebrate the holiday in the Orlando area, and here are three of our favorites.
Celebrate at SeaWorld
St. Patrick’s Day falls during SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival, making it an extra special culinary adventure this year. The festival, which runs from February 4 through May 8, 2022, features more than 50 tasty plates paired with 75 wine and cocktail selections plus 75 craft beers. Billed as “the biggest theme park food festival in Orlando,†the event also showcases live entertainment from local bands and world-renowned artists. SeaWorld says to expect special surprises scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day, and celebrations in years past have included treats like a green “Luck of the Irish†cocktail. It’s worth a trip to see what the park has up its sleeve for the holiday this year.
Eat, Drink, and Be Merry at Raglan Road
Over at Disney Springs, Raglan Road often marks the St. Patrick’s Day holiday with a dedicated itinerary of special entertainment. No matter the date, this Irish pub and restaurant is always a highly desirable destination, so make your reservations well in advance to secure a seat. Raglan Road boasts a real Dublin heritage, with the pub being designed and constructed in Ireland and filled with authentic furniture, art, and antiques. There’s always Irish song and dance, with an ever-changing lineup of professional dancers, bands, and artists performing on the establishment’s main and patio stages. The menu features shepherd’s pie, a steady flow of Guinness beer, and, in honor of Disney World’s 50th anniversary, a special whisky and caramel brownie dessert.
Check Out the Area’s Irish Pubs
Outside of the theme parks, there are plenty of great spots to celebrate in and around Orlando. Downtown Orlando’s oldest Irish pub, Lizzy McCormack’s will host a St. Patrick’s day celebration beginning at 8:30 a.m. on March 17 and running through 2 a.m. on March 18. Start off the day with a kegs and eggs breakfast and party on with live music, contests, special dishes, and Irish dancing.
Just down the street, check out the Harp & Celt, an authentic Irish pub and restaurant that is sure to host a hopping holiday celebration. Farther north, in Winter Park, Fiddler’s Green is an area favorite that has been serving up Irish fare, tunes, and entertainment for more than 25 years. And if you’re willing to venture even farther, Lake Mary’s Liam Fitzpatrick’s is another great option for Celtic fun.
After a day of celebrating, catch up on your rest at your choice of peaceful Orlando resort. Close to the major theme parks, Marriott Orlando offers Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando at SeaWorld and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Convenient to other area attractions, check out the Wyndham Orlando Resort & Conference Center/Celebration, or Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc. And over on International Drive, excellent lodging options are Comfort Inn International, Element Orlando International Drive, and Best Western International Drive. Â
