Planning a Central Florida vacation and looking for the inside scoop on the area’s many theme parks and attractions? Here are some of our favorite Orlando-themed podcasts to help you get in the mood for fun in the sun while planning your next vacation.
Walt Disney World Podcasts
Disney has far and away the most dedicated podcasts of all the theme parks. True Disney aficionados will be familiar with the official Disney fan club, D23. Founded in 2009, the name D23 stands for “Disney†and “1923†the year Walt Disney founded the company that would become Disney. The mission of the fan club is to bring fans closer to the magic of Disney. One way this is accomplished is through the D23 Inside Disney podcast, which offers an inside scoop on the latest Disney news through in-depth interviews with the internal talent that is working on those projects. The Inside Disney podcast is a great pick to get you geared up for your Disney visit and loaded with behind-the-scenes info on what’s happening in and around the parks and brand at large.
Beyond the official podcast, there is a huge number of very successful and informative fan podcasts designed to help with Disney vacation planning. WDW Prep to Go offers more than one hundred episodes of planning tips and tricks. WDW 4 Families – A Disney World Travel Planning Podcast focuses on planning a family vacation to Disney and even touches a bit on other area parks and attractions. Double Your WDW: The Disney World Planning Podcast aims to answer the question “how do I plan the best Disney vacation†by offering strategy and advice on the topic.
Other Theme Park and Orlando Podcasts
The other major theme parks also have a mix of official and fan podcasts to help with your trip planning. SeaWorld offers Sea the World with Cindy Simmons, an official podcast covering new rides, seasonal events, and animal experiences. The Unofficial Universal Orlando Podcast tackles news, reviews, and interviews about the Universal Orlando Resort. Go Informed: Build a Better Vacation is dedicated to planning an Orlando theme park vacation and covers both Disney and Universal with information on ticketing, seasonal events, rides, and attractions. For an even deeper dive into the Orlando scene, Life in Orlando is a podcast that covers the major theme parks as well as other Orlando attractions like shopping and dining on International Drive and other off-the-beaten-path experiences in the area that you may want to build into your upcoming vacation plans.
When your Orlando vacation finally arrives, be sure to stay near all the action at your choice of comfortable hotels. Along famed International Drive, check out Aloft Orlando International Drive, Comfort Inn International, Element Orlando International Drive, or Best Western International Drive. Lodging close to the Disney theme parks includes the Crowne Plaza Lake Buena Vista. Other area choices are the Wyndham Orlando Resort & Conference Center/Celebration, and Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc.Â
